Yet Another Blog out there on the great wide intraweb.  Since I rarely update my personal page here and wd-o.com, I've decided to create a blog named Iroiro Na Koto.

The main focus of this blog is for me to give media impressions, in particular my impressions of various anime.  This may prove helpful for the few that read it that may be interested in what upcoming series I see as worth looking out for.  Because everyone waits eagerly for my opinion on it all ... =^_^=

Test
I am working on some on the backend such that I can update the journal (or blog as the kids would say) portion of this main page from any web browser.  Since I am using style sheets as well, it'll give me better flexibility over the design of the page.

It is still rough but you can go here for the "alpha" version.

I have a baby?
So, yesterday was the day of interesting phone calls - not even counting the numerous calls from a colleague in Scotland.  To begin with, I received my very fist headhunter call.  I know feel like a real part of the corporate world, getting recruitment calls from a headhunter!  I think the most humorous thing about the call was they used a "you probably don't remember, but we talked a year ago ..." opening, kind of akin to how spammers like to start subjects with "re:" to make it sound like you have a pre-existing relationship.  I wonder if that works on people?

Later in the evening, I got a call from an adoption agency or something insisting there was a child for me to go pick up.  They couldn't believe that someone actually accidentally (or purposefully?) gave them the wrong phone number.  Obviously if you dial the number, it has to be the right number, ne?

Scotch and Sheep
It is May and I have returned from 3 weeks in Scotland.  So, why not update the ol' front-page journal?  Perhaps it is in the spirit of some friends who have begun their own blogs that I feel compelled to update my little corner of web space.

Business travel, particularly when it extends weeks or more, is a very interesting experience.  Basically, you are putting your life on hold to go and dedicate yourself to work.  You do get to see new and sometimes interesting places, but the rest of your life comes to a stop.  IT is a little tough coming back and trying to get into the groove of things again.  I believe being single makes this even harder - those travelers with a family or SO have someone to help them get back into a routine.

I just returned from a small Memorial Day cookout with some friends.  It was good, my first barbecue of the season.  The taste of a burger or dog fresh off the grill, under a blue sky with a warm cool breeze is one of those sensations that make you realize that not all is wrong with this earth.

Pics of the Scotland trip will be forthcoming.

Biggest lesson from the trip: I now know two foods I don't like - Roquefort cheese and Haggis.  I imagine you could combine them into a dish of such potency that those who can eat it and survive should be crowned monarchs of all things vomit inducing.

I am a lazy web-bastard
I think I need a script that will go and add a post every 3 - 6 months.  It can say "Been a while ..."

So, what has happened in the pas 4 months?  Well, no more WDT has drawn itself, unfortunately.  This is partially due to doing a fair amount of OT and travel.  But it is mostly due to CoH (^_^)::

Speaking of travel, I will be spending 3 - 4 weeks in lovely Croatia.  So, there probably won't be much more in the way of updates for a while.  Surprised?

Update, update, update
Been a while since I took some time to babble or rant here. But, whether you like it or not, I think I shall go ahead and do some babblin' =^_^=

City of Heroes is turning out to be a very successful "group" game.  Everyone I have played with seems to have a blast.  This seems to be the first MMORPG that really understands the needs of the casual gamer, and aims to meet those needs.  We can get on, do a mission or two, and log off an hour later, having accomplished something.  Combat is also incredibly fun, very fast paced for an MMORPG.

I beat two of my backlogged games this weekend: FFX-2 and Dragon Quest (er, warrior) II.  I had a blast with both of them.  I am debating going through FFX-2 again to get the mascot dress sphere, which I missed the first time around ... though I am going to focus on other games first.  Maybe Dragon Warrior VII next, hmmm.

I really enjoyed Simpsons tonight - not sure if it was a rerun, but it was the first time I had seen it.  The first really satirical Simpsons in a while. In some respects, though, to close to the reality for comfort ...

I managed to get a few more boxes packed this weekend. Man, it is going to take forever to get everything all packed up. Fun, fun, fun!

Finally, minor update to The Group Syndicate's website.  No screenies up yet, but I hope to get some up soon.  I'd like to get a group shot of everyone's main ...
